Carry a portable version of the Chrome browser

I do have Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox installed on my system, but I prefer Google Chrome for web surfing. I find it much faster! But while travelling, if I have to work on some other system that has only IE or Firefox, I miss Chrome, not just because of my bookmarks and favorites, but also because of the speedy browsing. Here’s how I can carry Chrome with me on an Ontop flash drive, with all my favorites and bookmarks stored in it.

Google Chrome Portable is a portable version of the Google Chrome browser that can be conveniently carried anywhere on a USB stick. Settings, bookmarks and favorites are stored and can then be used by simple plugging it to any computer. It has all the features of Google Chrome such as multi tab browsing and saved thumbnails of frequently visited websites on the interface.

Google Chrome Portable is available for download on PortableApps.com. Run the setup file and extract it to your Ontop USB flash drive. The installation will create a GoogleChromePortable folder on the drive and the browser can then be launched by clicking the GoogleChromePortable file.

Use Chrome on any computer by just plugging in the USB flash drive. Even if you have Google Chrome running on your system, a fresh window of the Chrome browser will open. Enjoy all the features of the Chrome browser and start saving your bookmarks and favorites, plus view browsing and downloading history in the same way.

Whether you’re working on a tablet PC at home or a desktop in a public library, you can still have your browser with favorites, bookmarks, and history intact.
