With digital media files rapidly growing in size as a result of the rapid proliferation of high-definition digital video and images, write speeds of 6MB/s in standard USB 2.0 flash drives are no longer sufficient to meet the needs of consumers and business users, resulting in longer and longer delays in transferring heavy duty multimedia files from the PC to the flash drive.
In addition, faster read speeds are also becoming an increasingly important requirement to ensure the smooth stutter-free playback of large high-definition video files from the drive using a PC or large-screen TV.
To address this growing need for faster write and read performance Ontop has developed its new ultra-fast TurboJet technology, which triples write speeds to as much as 18MB/s and boosts read speeds by over 20%, and implemented it across its complete line of stylish and customizable USB flash drives.
This information was put together as an overview of TurboJet technology. It can be downloaded as part of the TurboJet Media Kit. It outlines the key features of Ontop TurboJet technology and performance, and summarizes its benefits under a diverse range of business and consumer-oriented scenarios.
Ontop TurboJet Technology Performance Summary
The table below shows the read/write speed of TurboJet technology with a 50MB file using the industry- standard HDBENCH benchmark application. As is shown in the table, the drive achieves a write speed of 17.003MB/s and a read speed of 22.624MB/s, and reaches an overall total of 7,157. Ontop TurboJet Technology: Getting the “Write” Speed “Right”
With its peak write speed of 18MB/s, TurboJet technology is three times faster than standard USB flash drives, which have a write speed of only 6MB/s.
As a result, business users and consumers can save valuable time when transferring large photos, videos, presentations, and other data from a PC hard drive to the flash drive, and minimize those awkward moments keeping their boss, client or friend waiting while they move that vital file from their system to their drive.
The two charts below show the write speed of TurboJet technology for a range of file densities using the industry standard HDBENCH. Write speed for 50MB~100MB files sizes can be optimized through the firmware at the client’s request. HD Bench Test

Ontop TurboJet technology: Read Performance
Supporting write and read speeds that can exceed 18MB/s and 22MB/s respectively, Ontop USB flash drives with TurboJet technology provide a high performance and reliable solution for consumers and business users.
This enables them not only to move huge volumes of digital content, including HD video files, high-resolution photographs, music, and presentations, simply and quickly, but also to enjoy a high quality, stutter-free viewing experience of high-definition video files or images played directly from the drive.
